After we put them back in their cage, Keels went into the bathroom to wash her hands...and suddenly Justin and I heard whimpering.
We went in and she was scratching under her chin and high on her chest, saying, "I think I might be allergic to guinea pigs."
She went into the living room and I noticed she was clenching her fists so that her nails dug into her palms. I said, "No, sweetie, give me your hand."
She dug her nails into my skin, but not as hard as I think she wanted to. Justin took her other hand and she started laughing hysterically. The skin on her chest was bright pink. We asked if she needed to go to the doctor or the store for medication, and she said she didn't know.
Then she went back into the bathroom and discovered a puffy white hive growing on her chin.
We went and bought allergy cream. Justin has forbidden her from ever touching the pigs again.
So far, we know she's allergic to cats, guinea pigs, and sheep. Also, everything else in the world. Except maybe dogs.
